 Broadwater Baptist working with West Sussex County Council are to work together to provide a children's centre (Family Centre) on the church premises for the good of all. The government will provide funding, the county council expertise and support; the church will provide buildings and a welcome to all so that together we can make this work.

The Broadwater Baptist Family Centre will provide family support, parental outreach, child and health services and a great place to meet with others. Work is due to start at the beginning of July and be fully opened by March 2008.

Broadwater Baptist are convinced that 'people matter to God' and that you do not have to be religious to use a church building. By offering our support and some of our resources we believe that we can do our small part to make a change in our community. We believe that we are following the example of Jesus to make the world a better place.

Features of the new centre will include:

• A new entrance
• A new car park
• An internet cafe
• Bigger meeting rooms
• Refitted offices
• New storage areas
• Refitted kitchen
• Improved toilet facilities
